Making you think...

Everyone has considered, or will consider at one time or another what they need in their life in order to be successful. Some people need money, for others its  fame, and everyone needs love, regardless everyone has their own objects of desire. Most people wish to live their life to the fullest, but few of us will ever reach that goal. I hope that I am able to someday. There are certainly things that I think about the second I wake up in the morning. Usually it consists of people I care the most about, what I need to do that particular day, and that I need to fuel my stomach.
Caring about people does not consist of dropping by someone and asking them "what's up" without genuinely appreciating what their answer is. Caring is an unconditional love to sacrifice for someone else when they are in need. Knowing this, I wish for the people that I care about to be the ones that actually care about me. This usually is never the case. If you are trying to please everyone, stop right now. You'll never do it. Just accept the fact there are certain people you will never get along with, and that's how it is. The people who try to do this come across as, and usually are fake people. If you genuinely show who you are, then people will respect you for honesty rather than the two-faced monster of acting. People nowadays do not know who their real friends are, with 2000 friends on Facebook, are you really willing to share all of your personal affections to all of these people? Success to me for this means having friends, true friends. Friends will come and go, family eventually will as well. It's a matter of life. Accepting but not lurking with these thoughts will put you far ahead of the game from everyone else. People I care about are amazing usually self sacrificing people. My mother has always been that type of person, and I am forever indebted to her for this. Countless car rides back and forth from school, and dealing with my mess around the house. I can say the same for my dad as well as he would take the shirt off his back if he could to help me out. All I can say is I hope I can be half the parent that you two were, and give my children everything I didn't have, which fortunately isn't too much.
Just sit back and think about people in your life, and who you are willing to sacrifice for, that means both time, money, and many other things. You have to ask yourself if it will be worth it in the end to try and make a difference in the life of someone else, regardless of if you will get anything back in return. I hope you will say yes to that because I certainly do.

Update 9/18

So another week another post. I hope this continues. This week I'm supposed to be running 20 miles, and I am so anxious for it, plus I will be testing out some new shoes before then. They are Nike Frees and I have heard nothing but good things about these shoes. They also have Nike+ so I'll know my exact distance when I am running so that's pretty cool as well. Hope I don't bug people too much but this definitely helps me prepare and clear my thoughts for my runs. My hope is that if you see me able to train and finish a marathon, that will inspire you to do something, whether that is running a marathon as well or doing something else you never thought you could do in your life. It's funny how certain things make you appreciate what you have more. Until next post...

12 September 2011

So I haven't posted in a while, so here goes. Today marks the first day of the second week of junior year classes at Loyola. So far its been good, but I have tons of work, so we shall see, hopefully it all pays off, as this year I am really looking to focus my efforts.
So as many people know by now I am training for the Baltimore Marathon, which takes place on October 15th, and I personally can't wait. Many people will look at me and automatically assume I'm too big to run, and that I'm better suited to strap on some pads and play football, than pounding the pavement. Last Tuesday I ran for 18 miles into downtown Baltimore, and found some pretty cool places. I got to run around Camden Yards, and through Eutaw street, and see the field, and gained some inspiration by running around M and T Bank stadium. Even though I'm not a Ravens fan, I can respect the way they play and their home stadium. One of the most interesting views that I got to check out was the Fed Hill area, as well as the dock around the Ritz Carlton, catching a great view of the Baltimore skyline. All of this in the pouring rain, and it made it that much better when I finished. I did a half marathon in my senior year of high school, but I was in much better running shape, and since then I have also gained a noticeable amount of weight both muscle, and fat but I know that the running spirit is in me.
Tomorrow morning is an early one, and I plan to run eight miles, and test out my new water belt. I hope it works. Alright I have to get back to work but hopefully the time between this and my next post is shorter. Just Remember Don't Give Up on Any Ambitions that you have. Impossible is Nothing.

Beginning of the End of Summer

So since the last time I posted, a lot has changed! Mostly for the better. First off I am closer to going back down to the streets of Baltimore, and Loyola, and I can't wait. Secondly, I am doing great at work, as I ended up getting a raise, the day before my birthday, a great way to start it. I am also lucky enough to have some of the greatest friends who all gave me birthday wishes, and it felt great. Of course my favorite rapper Drake released a new song, and that always puts me in a good mood. I've gotten further in my new favorite tv show, The Wire. It makes me miss school even more. I also ran for 45 minutes on the treadmill today, continuing my marathon training. I'm anxious, excited, and nervous, all at once for this! The training gets serious now, as I'm going to limit what I consume, as common sense would dictate, you run faster with less fat. I know I have a great support system set up, and I know I can do this. All I need is the Mental Fortitude, and my ambition. I also have a couple of new goals for this new school year, besides training and succeeding in all I do. I'm looking to be a better friend, not only to the people that I already am close with, but also those who I dont know. I hope it works. Only Time Can Tell.

"I'm just sayin' you could do better.... Tell me have you heard that lately?"

July 2011

This hopefully is the beginning of a long experience, in which I will discuss a variety of topics, specifically from the perspective of a young male, in college. I hope that people will find this interesting, but moreover, that it will help me decipher my thoughts, as I enter my Junior Year, with all sorts of fun things to look ahead at. First Off, I am in the middle of training for my first ever marathon, and although the training has not been successful as I like, I can't wait for the race to come. Ever since I finished a half-marathon in my senior year of high school, I have been looking forward to the challenge of a full marathon. Secondly, I am making a trip to Madrid during my Thanksgiving break to meet up with some great friends that I met in the past year. That should be a blast and can't wait. I'm not really the nerdy type to make a blog, but as my friends could tell you, I love to share my thoughts and opinions, on many things. I am looking forward to finishing off the summer strong, with regards to Work, and my summer friends, and can't wait to get this school year off to a great start! Remember Ambition will help you succeed at what ever you do in life.
